Hartwig Proxy, Parnassusweg 213, 1077DG Amsterdam, The Netherlands

On 2 and 3 October, Gekookte Geschiedenis / Cooked History comes to life around the table at Proxy Kitchen, a series in which Hartwig Proxy quite literally becomes the test kitchen for the future Hartwig Museum. Renowned chefs and culinary practitioners are invited to experiment with food, gathering and exchange, testing ideas and formats for the new museum’s kitchens.

For Black Achievement Month, KIP Republic has been invited to bring its podcast Gekookte Geschiedenis to life at Proxy Kitchen through two specially curated evenings of stories and tasting. Hosted by Ayra Kip (KIP Republic) and Jules Rijssen (Imagine IC), the events, like the podcast, take food as a starting point for stories about Black Afro-diasporic culture, identity, migration and history. Through a shared tasting experience created by chef Daniel Adriaan and pâtissier Gino Gebhard, these stories are brought together around the table, creating space for connection, conversation and exchange, while celebrating how food carries memories, connects cultures and passes history from one generation to the next.

We aim to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions, but we are still a test kitchen. Please contact producer.haf@hartwigartfoundation.nl to discuss available options.

Hartwig Proxy is the testing ground for the Hartwig Museum, a major new contemporary art museum set to open in Amsterdam in 2028.
