You are invited to the upcoming workshop and conversation, "Tuning in: dreams and daily oracles” facilitated by artists Daniel Godínez Nivón and Milena Bonilla Galeano in dialogue with curator Sara Giannini.
Like other commons under threat globally, the dream space is increasingly enclosed, shaped by a paradigm of passive image consumption that disconnects us from imagination, creativity, and community-making. This workshop proposes that reclaiming both the dream space and the everyday oracle as commons is a vital way to sustain the link between collective desire and solidarity, especially in emancipatory processes rooted in non-hegemonic epistemologies, discarded by modernity.
This is particularly urgent if we consider that Justice, historically shaped alongside the privatization of the commons in Europe and its colonies, now operates in a global context where abuse of power, inequality, and violence increasingly shape lives on Earth. In this framework, maintaining awareness of the dream space as a commons — which is prone to colonization and erasure — becomes essential.
The workshop will be divided in two sessions:
May 17: Daniel guides a session with drawing in preparation for dreamwork
May 23: Milena facilitates a collective mapping of dream experiences by participants.
May 24: Dreaming Notions of Justice: Conversation between the artists and curator Sara Giannini
This workshop is open to people interested in collective dreaming and oracular work, as well as artists, activists, and others working within social justice and abolitionist frameworks.
